A Holistic Approach to Movement and Wellness

A Holistic Approach to Movement and Wellness

Welcome Friends!

I am so glad you’re here. I’m Jamie and I am here to help you live life well!

My mission is to help people get empowered-to develop deeper, loving relationships with their unique bodies in order to live full, authentic, pain free lives.

I specialize in teaching the classical Pilates lineage of Joseph Pilates. I am also a certified personal trainer through NASM and a level 1 SOMA Breath instructor. Through private, duet and group class instruction I incorporate my knowledge of body mechanics, mindful breathing and  connecting from within in order to guide clients towards success.

My clients leave their lessons with more knowledge about their bodies and more power to create healthful lifestyle shifts. They look taller and more confident. They have better energy and are smiling from the inside out.

I grew up in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware and I love to be outside. In my free time, I enjoy writing poetry, camping with my guy Greg, hiking with my Golden Retriever, Maurice, skiing and swimming in the ocean. My passion is movement and I believe it’s my calling to guide you towards a better relationship with your moving, breathing body. A relationship rooted in compassion and listening so that you may better understand the incredible power and strength that lies within you. Movement is fundamental to who we are as humans-so is breath! …and we don’t do enough of it. We sit at desks, we sit in the car, we sit on the couch and we don’t pay attention to how we feel. Together, you and I can create a wellness routine that helps you feel into the body you have. A strong body, a pain free body, a beautiful body that you feel confident in-that you want to live in.

For more about my education, keep reading!

I hold a BFA in dance and performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder. While at CU, I studied The Alexander Technique under Nada Diachenko. This was my first experience with somatics and I ran with it. I filled up on classes that emphasized healthful movement and an understanding of anatomy and the human animal. I then achieved the Healthy Dance Practice Certificate through Safe in Dance International. After college, I completed the Advanced Teacher Training Program at The Pilates Center in Boulder, Colorado. The program was all encompassing and taught an understanding of the method of Pilates, not just the individual exercises. In 2023 I became a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Recently, I became a Level 1 SOMA Breath Instructor. With eight years of experience teaching Pilates and many more studying moving bodies, I strive to provide safe, clear instruction for a fun movement session tailored to your goals. If you’re ready to invest in yourself-to be happier and healthier, I am on your team, I can help.

“Within seconds of speaking to Jamie, you'll see just how experienced and well versed she is in teaching clients of all ranges. She takes the time to explain each exercise thoroughly, providing education on the reasoning behind each move and providing all the necessary modifications.”
-Sara M.
“Jamie takes the time to establish rapport with you which I appreciate as she has never made me feel awkward or insecure. She takes the time to get to know you to help formulate a plan to fit your goals. When I had a pinched nerve, Jamie adjusted each workout to prevent further injury yet allow my body to learn to recuperate faster. Every class is fun and rewarding.”

Your wellness should be about more than just working out…

That’s why I offer multiple modalities AND why I am currently working on a way to bring you more content via substack! Stay tuned for more…

  • Pilates

Originally named Contrology, Pilates is a codified movement method of over 500 exercises designed to improve your life! The principles of Pilates include breath control, rhythm and flow, focus and uniform development.

  • SOMA Breath

SOMA Breath is a life changing practice that combines movement, chanting, intention setting meditation and breathwork. The practice is set to inspiring music that will hold space and time while we breath together as one.

  • Strength Training

It’s all about loading your body to optimize your power! Different from Pilates’ use of spring load, strength training utilizes body weight, free weights and machines to create load. I love playing with both methods to create unique workouts for each client!
